in honor of national nachos day, I introduce you to s’mores apple nachos. yum!
for ingredients, all you need: two apples, white chocolate chips [melt down in double boil], caramel sauce, mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, chopped pecans. that’s it. even better, it takes mere minutes to assemble this delectable platter of apple nachos.
cut apples into thin slices and arrange on a platter.
melt white chocolate in a double boil. put chocolate into a
pastry bag ziplock bag, cut the tip, and drizzle over apples.
immediately top with mini chocolate chips, marshmallows, and chopped pecans [before the chocolate hardens]. then drizzle with caramel sauce.
now ..it’s time to enjoy.
happy national nachos day.
however you choose to celebrate, it’s sure to be delicious.
a day spent at the pumpkin patch is a day well spent.
but make sure you dress weather + activity appropriate.
[and bring a handbag big enough for your
camera apple cider donuts].
when it comes to rocking double denim: pair a light + a dark. and add colorful accessories to liven up the “canadian tuxedo”.
chambray shirt / brown cardigan sweater / dark skinnies /black rider boots / dynamo double handle.
added bonus: an outtake.
I absolutely love holidays. and all of the activities + fun that go along with them. I’m also big into holiday traditions. and although [J] & I don’t have a family yet ..it doesn’t hurt to create traditions a little early, as a family of two.
one of our favorite halloween activities is pumpkin carving. of course. we select our pumpkins, set aside a night, open a bottle of wine, and get to work creating our masterpieces. last year we decided to jump on board the craze, and instead of carving ..we painted. see our pumpkins here.
this year we took it up another notch: painting + carving.
the first thing I did was: cover my pumpkin in stars + swirls. using black puffy paint. and while I let it dry, I watched [J] spray paint his pumpkin.
once the puffy paint designs were dry, I spray painted my pumpkin gold.
I used mod podge + gold glitter to add a little extra sparkle.
then we opened a bottle of wine and it was time to get to carving.
the finished product.
they’re day to night pumpkins.
7 days ’til halloween.
