oh, 2014. you were one for the books.
we moved into a new apartment in des moines. • I accepted a new job in march. • in april, I attended go blog social [a blogger conference] in kansas city. • we had the most magical engagement photographs taken. it was my pinterest dream come true. • I got married. which I’m sure you probably didn’t even know, because I barely spoke about it. not here, or here, and surely not here. I may have even forgotten to share our wedding video. insert: an overload of sarcasm. • we added a sweet, little furbaby to our family + named him Sir Rigby. • we spent the holidays in chicago. •

I cannot wait to see what 2015 has in store. I am hoping for an amazing first year of marriage. filled with loads of traveling + adventures. more exploring the great city we live in. much health + happiness. and a lot of time with friends + family.
what were your favorite moments of 2014? what are you looking forward to in 2015?
it has been awhile since you’ve heard from me. and I will assure you, I am working to eliminate my bad habits. and give my blog the attention it deserves, again.
between wedding planning, a full-time job, a
weekend part-time job, my 3 ABC family television show obsessions [pretty little liars, chasing life, and young + hungry], paying attention to my soon-to-be husband, and sleeping .. I am exhausted. but the truth is, this blog is not a side hobby. it’s essential. it’s my space to be creative and let my mind wander to the places my 9 to 5 job doesn’t let me go. if only I worked 9 to 5 every day. and when I’m away too long, I miss it. so even though things are growing even more hectic around here [just over two months until our wedding] ..I want to get LLinaBC back on track. it’s my sanity. and believe me, I need it.
let me share with you what I’ve been crushing lately ..
baublebar // the lovely ladies that make up baublebar’s SWAT team are my heroes. they helped me select my bridesmaids’ jewelry. and after I waited a tiny bit too long to place my order, one of the pieces was sold out. so they worked with me. and I could not be happier. not to mention, they sent me a surprise bauble just for me.
essie “she said yes” // brides insist on hair tutorials. add nail tutorials to that list for me. I have been testing various shades of polish for [J] + I’s big day. and I’ve got a thing for this one. the cute name helps.
absolut citron vodka // you’re never going to believe this, but using absolut citron in your moscow mule recipe makes them even better. just try it.
YSL glossy lip stain // thank you to the sweet sales associate at sephora who spent [at least] an hour with me, experimenting with ‘possible’ wedding day looks. this is a winner. it’s a lip stain & gloss in one. it’ll provide the right amount of lip color I want, without having to apply it every 10 minutes, and not leaving too much on [J]’s handsome face.
see you in
august tomorrow :)
weddings are synonymous with an insane amount of decisions. and when you seek guidance, all can be answered with “whatever makes you happy”. oh thanks, that helps. [insert: sarcasm].
I decided on the bridesmaid dresses fairly quickly. almost too quick, so the second guessing began. but after a little reassuring from
the girls who will be wearing the dresses my bridesmaids, I made the final decision. picture this: white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, and sapphire blue long strapless bridesmaid gowns.
next decision to be made: jewelry to perfectly complement said gowns + sandy beaches.
thank you to the bauble bar for instantly easing my mind + helping.
I sent a request to their SWAT* team with details of the dresses + what I envisioned. and was quickly greeted by
my hero erin, who put together this pinterest board based on the info I provided for her. a couple yes & no’s later, erin created 5 potential looks for my bridesmaids.
which way do I go?
I love the idea of a statement necklace with the strapless dresses. but on the flip-side, I love the simplicity of no necklace, just gorgeous drop earrings.
