our wedding video.

our whirlwind of a wedding has come to a close. it was incredible. it was exhausting. and it was all worth it. on october 11th, we said our “I do’s” at the hard rock hotel & casino in the dominican republic. and to share with those who could not join us, we had a hometown wedding reception on saturday, november 29th.

to share a piece of our destination wedding, we played our highlight video for our guests.

and today, for all of you ..

happy first day of december.

I mentioned to [J] this morning, we should decorate for christmas this evening. not taking into account, it looks like we’re throwing an ongoing wedding in our house. but regardless, the stockings will be hung. and tomorrow, in all of it’s late glory, I will be posting the 25 days of christmas list. get to thinking about yours!

have a good monday.

the destination to our wedding.

[J] + I always knew that we would someday plan our wedding afar. we had envisioned an intimate ceremony on a breathtaking beach. that was the easy part. when we got engaged, we had no idea where to begin. after many intense nights of google searching, we stumbled upon destinationweddings.com. I felt at home there. I was able to search many destinations, a ton of resorts, and get an idea of what a wedding there would look like. we knew we wanted an all-inclusive resort, with many restaurants & activities, family friendly, and somewhat easy to get to from the united states. we went back + forth between the dominican republic + jamaica. but finally settled on punta cana, dominican republic. all because we fell in love with the hard rock hotel & casino.

there are twelve restaurants. everything from hibachi, brick oven-style pizza, a brazilian steakhouse, and so much more. not to mention, every pool has a food menu. and room service is included. six bars + nightclubs.

of course they have an amazing coffee shop, that [J] + I made a habit to stop by daily. and a gelato shop that will make you drool.

the pools are amazing. but the best ones, have swim-up bars. and the ocean is the craziest shades of blue.

but truly, we felt at home. you start seeing familiar faces. the bartenders know your drink order. the waitstaff asks “how are you doing today? like they’ve known you forever. the service is incredible.

I could live there.

[the wedding department at the hard rock punta cana blew my expectations out of the water. I cried saying goodbye + thank you to our coordinator, erika, that I knew for a total of seven days. I felt people bending over backward to ensure we had our dream wedding. and we did, plus so much more].

take me back ..

what’s your dream wedding look like?

any questions on planning a destination wedding, how [J] + I planned ours, or anything really ..I’m more than happy to answer. or help.

happy friday.

wedding // couple customization.

a major part of wedding planning these days is customization. not only do you have to make a never-ending amount of decision, but you also have to decide where + how to customize your wedding.

how will it scream YOU as a couple. and where will it scream it. the cake? the decor? the invitations?

I know what makes [J] & I “us”, but when it came to turning the “us” into wedding decor ..I was stumped.

so I created a mood couple’s board.

filled with all of things that make us who we are, as a couple. and what our closest friends + family would associate with us. it has & will serve as a guide to help me make customized wedding decisions.

what is the best item you’ve seen customized at a wedding? where is customization essential?

I can’t wait to see how this our wedding comes together. and all I have to say is, I hope the Dominican Republic has iced coffee.

happy wednesday.
