lately I’ve had a hard time turning my brain off at night.
to say there is a lot going on would be a severe understatement.
a nightly lavender epsom salt bath has been my savior. paired with candlelight, a notebook for my thoughts, and [once a week] a clay mask for my face.
[find epsom salt in your grocery store’s bath section or here].
the do’s + don’ts
do: light candles & turn off all artificial light.
don’t: bring your phone with you. [it won’t do well in water & you want to eliminate outside distractions].
do: play soft music or be in silence. whatever is more relaxing for you.
do: 20 minutes of complete + total brain drain. for some that’s eyes closed, silence. for others, its escaping in a book. or maybe, it’s writing out your thoughts. mine is a combination of all three. so find what works for you.
don’t: tell yourself you can’t find time to escape for a few minutes ..
the weekend is nearly upon us. and my first bridal shower. woo hoo.
when it comes to makeup, I can use all the help I can get.
my daily routine takes a total of 5 minutes, if that. and includes a light concealer under my eyes [& any blemishes], maybe powder, blush, mascara. the end.
so when angie, a mary kay beauty consultant, reached out to me to test some products, I didn’t even hesitate. my favorite: she gave me tips + tricks and was more than happy to guide me on what was best for my skin tone & eye color.
I have a thing for nail polish. and this carefree coral officially tops my list. it may actually be the perfect wedding day shade. I love it that much. it’s bright + beachy, yet pretty + sophisticated.
when it comes to lip color application
because I really struggle in this area, angie recommended the “satin lips” set; it comes with a mask and a balm. the lip mask removes that dry layer of skin to reveal a nice smooth lip to apply color to. and also helps keep your lip color on longer. I want to wear much more lip color this summer, so I’m putting this in my order.
she is generously offering 10% off to all of my lovely readers. just mention “chelsea10“. view all the products here. and send her an email [email@example.com] with your order.
my mom is coming to town this weekend, so we’ll be putting our order in together.

when you’ve earned it, you’ve earned it.
we all need an evening to be our only concern. where all consuming-thoughts float away. and we are fully concentrated on relaxing.
an eternity 8 days of moving, I was covered in bumps + bruises and far too tired to take part in every day life. I’d earned a night of pampering. and don’t get me wrong, I love a spa as much as the next girl. but sometimes the act of leaving the house is so daunting, and in this case unnecessary. so I gifted myself a night of pampering in the comfort of my own 4 walls.
