after hiking around devils tower, we got in the car and continued our road trip to montana.

and off we went to the little bighorn battlefield.

which is incredibly amazing. and oh so important to our country’s history.

the reader’s digest version: it took place in june 25-26, 1876. and was the U.S. army battling against the native american tribes, who were resisting pressure from the government to relocate to reservations.

after some inspiring history, it was time to get back on the road ..

destination: yellowstone national park.

but what we didn’t expect ..was to have some of thee most beautiful scenery along the way.

sweet little towns, tucked in the valleys of massive mountains.

and winding roads, going up the side of said mountains. [I drove].

but with thee most breathtaking scenery.

around each turn, we said “it can’t get any prettier than this” ..so we’d park the car, get out, and snap a couple photos. but without fail ..it always got better.

and without question, one of the most entertaining parts of our trip ..just so happened to be when there was an “open range”. and road signs would say “caution: animals on the road”. and you would come around the corner, and see this ..

I guess when you’re driving hours & hours across the country, it doesn’t take much to entertain you. just beautiful scenery & cows on the road.

cannot wait to share our time at yellowstone. next week.

are you sick of trip recaps yet?

happy wednesday.
