BFF greeting card.

there are many, many miles between me + some of my closest friends. it may be a “part of growing up,” but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. although, I do love traveling to see them, the rendezvous must be much more strategic these days. taking into account vacation days, coordinating work + life schedules, travel logistics, and families. I miss the college days, we’d meet on a whim; whether it was to get ready + go out or stay in + drink wine.

I love snail mail. people don’t receive enough happy things in the mail [#bills]. I thought it’d be fun to create a greeting card for my friends afar. by going the DIY route, I can personalize the message + add a fun touch. so that is what I did ..

I just designed the cards in a word document. I added a wine glass clip art. and for a subtle touch, I let the text go gradually from grey to black moving down the page. for the wine glass, I used mod podge, glitter, & a paint brush. I just filled in the “wine”.

cheers! to pretending we’re drinking wine together right now.

DIY // housewarming basket.

we have entered the time of our lives where jobs, promotions, new homes, engagements, wedding, and babies are the norm. it’s fun to celebrate your friend’s successes, as well as your own.  [but thankfully when [J] gets promoted, I can just bring him a 6-pack of his favorite beer & he’s content]. but it can get mundane. it’s like you fall into a pattern. you find out the occasion, purchase your go-to gift, and voilà.

time for a gift-giving face lift.

I typically start with a pretty basket and fill it with goodies that fit a theme.

our friends just recently purchased a beautiful home. and to celebrate I thought..moscow mules. seriously. it’s summertime. they have a great outdoor space. and who doesn’t love moscow mules?

the essentials: vodka, ginger beer, lime juice [and/or limes], paper straws, & a pretty picture frame of the moscow mule recipe. for fun, I added a summery candle.

do not forget the card.

happy thursday.

DIY: coasters.

if you have a friend, family member, or significant other that really likes beer ..this DIY is for you.

one random tuesday morning at 9AM, my fiance calls me, asking begging me to go to the liquor store. at 9AM on a tuesday. apparently this beer, called hopslam, brewed by bell’s is only released once a year and it goes fast. so I changed out of my pajamas and off I went, feeling ridiculous & passing judgement on myself.

all in the name of love I kept repeating.

then to further show my love, I turned his beloved hopslam six-packs into coasters that he can keep forever.
