some things are seasonal. and some things are just too good to say goodbye to when the seasons change. so you just adapt.
in this case, I’ve adapted my favorite summer cocktail to fit beautifully in my fall lineup. and it just so happens to be national apple cider day. I couldn’t even lie about that, google it.
let me introduce the apple cider moscow mule.
ingredients: vodka, ginger beer, apple cider, lime juice.
the magic: 2 parts vodka, 1/2 part lime juice, 2 parts apple cider, top with ginger beer [approx. 1/2 cup].
if you’re looking for a way to spice up your thanksgiving dinner, this may be the ticket.
[occasionally holidays need vodka. this is a festive + tasty way to bring it over to your
grandma’s dinner, without all the stares + judgement you’d receive by walking in with just a bottle of vodka].
it has been awhile since you’ve heard from me. and I will assure you, I am working to eliminate my bad habits. and give my blog the attention it deserves, again.
between wedding planning, a full-time job, a
weekend part-time job, my 3 ABC family television show obsessions [pretty little liars, chasing life, and young + hungry], paying attention to my soon-to-be husband, and sleeping .. I am exhausted. but the truth is, this blog is not a side hobby. it’s essential. it’s my space to be creative and let my mind wander to the places my 9 to 5 job doesn’t let me go. if only I worked 9 to 5 every day. and when I’m away too long, I miss it. so even though things are growing even more hectic around here [just over two months until our wedding] ..I want to get LLinaBC back on track. it’s my sanity. and believe me, I need it.
let me share with you what I’ve been crushing lately ..
baublebar // the lovely ladies that make up baublebar’s SWAT team are my heroes. they helped me select my bridesmaids’ jewelry. and after I waited a tiny bit too long to place my order, one of the pieces was sold out. so they worked with me. and I could not be happier. not to mention, they sent me a surprise bauble just for me.
essie “she said yes” // brides insist on hair tutorials. add nail tutorials to that list for me. I have been testing various shades of polish for [J] + I’s big day. and I’ve got a thing for this one. the cute name helps.
absolut citron vodka // you’re never going to believe this, but using absolut citron in your moscow mule recipe makes them even better. just try it.
YSL glossy lip stain // thank you to the sweet sales associate at sephora who spent [at least] an hour with me, experimenting with ‘possible’ wedding day looks. this is a winner. it’s a lip stain & gloss in one. it’ll provide the right amount of lip color I want, without having to apply it every 10 minutes, and not leaving too much on [J]’s handsome face.
see you in
august tomorrow :)
we have entered the time of our lives where jobs, promotions, new homes, engagements, wedding, and babies are the norm. it’s fun to celebrate your friend’s successes, as well as your own. [but thankfully when [J] gets promoted, I can just bring him a 6-pack of his favorite beer & he’s content]. but it can get mundane. it’s like you fall into a pattern. you find out the occasion, purchase your go-to gift, and voilà.
time for a gift-giving face lift.
I typically start with a pretty basket and fill it with goodies that fit a theme.
our friends just recently purchased a beautiful home. and to celebrate I thought..moscow mules. seriously. it’s summertime. they have a great outdoor space. and who doesn’t love moscow mules?
the essentials: vodka, ginger beer, lime juice [and/or limes], paper straws, & a pretty picture frame of the moscow mule recipe. for fun, I added a summery candle.
do not forget the card.
