oh, 2014. you were one for the books.
we moved into a new apartment in des moines. • I accepted a new job in march. • in april, I attended go blog social [a blogger conference] in kansas city. • we had the most magical engagement photographs taken. it was my pinterest dream come true. • I got married. which I’m sure you probably didn’t even know, because I barely spoke about it. not here, or here, and surely not here. I may have even forgotten to share our wedding video. insert: an overload of sarcasm. • we added a sweet, little furbaby to our family + named him Sir Rigby. • we spent the holidays in chicago. •
top four posts of 2014:
• hot buttered rum • 10 things you must do in des moines • DIY coasters • bridal sparkle •
• apple cider moscow mules • DIY housewarming basket • the opening of pinot’s palette • date night at malo •
I cannot wait to see what 2015 has in store. I am hoping for an amazing first year of marriage. filled with loads of traveling + adventures. more exploring the great city we live in. much health + happiness. and a lot of time with friends + family.
what were your favorite moments of 2014? what are you looking forward to in 2015?
change isn’t always a bad thing. occasionally it can help you learn a bit about yourself.
something old // something new // something undiscovered.
• old: I thrive on being busy.
• new: I love early mornings.
• undiscovered: where I’m going to fit a workout into my daily routine.
I just entered my 4th week at my full-time position. but what you may not have known, I also have a part-time job [saturday’s + sunday’s] as a waitress. [it’s become a “money for the wedding” job]. in addition, to time spent blogging. not to mention, there is apparently a wedding I should be ‘actively’ planning? and a gym I should be visiting for said-wedding. all the while getting 7 to 8 hours of sleep. lofty goals much?
I am still working out the kinks in my new routine. please bare with me.
I intend to be
successfully juggling it all very shortly.
as for the workout portion of my routine, I’m thinking that’ll be the newest addition to my mornings.
[*editor’s note: I think I can, I think I can].
my motto should be: don’t get overwhelmed; get iced coffee and do more.
I could not be happier to share with all of you ..
I began a new full-time position.
[tomorrow will mark the completion of two full weeks].
the road to get here was
so long, with many lulls. but it truly makes it that much more exciting + worth it. it’s hard not to get down on yourself when your job search yields numerous “we’re sorry, we have decided to go with another candidate. good luck!”. it is easy to second-guess your worth. but don’t. I gave myself the “they don’t know what they’re passing on” pep talk countless times. and now that I’m in a great position, it makes me want to work harder than ever.
now my concern is how am I going to decorate my office?
[if you know of any great etsy shops, I’d love the recommendation. I want inspirational prints + fun items everywhere. I do spend 8 hours a day in that chair].
friday, we’ll see you soon!
