life // keep caffeinated.

don’t waste the remainder of your summer by drinking hot coffee.

especially when it’s so easy to make home-brewed iced coffee. using items you already have; coffee grounds, water, & a coffee filter. [I use the one that came with my coffee pot]. just remember: 1 cup of coffee grounds to 4.5 cups of water. let them marry in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours. and you’ll be a happy camper.

my favorite part: taking it to work ..in a mason jar. because it’s more fun that way.

happy tuesday.

in the kitchen // summer beers.

I’m a beer drinker. but not exclusively. I don’t discriminate against alcoholic beverages. unless it’s a dirty martini. that’s [J]’s cocktail of choice. and I tried a sip on our very first date, 6 years ago, and have refused it since. I’d say it’s taste resembles being swept under a wave in the pacific ocean with your mouth wide open. picture that.

when the temperatures increase, so do my fruity beer cravings.

[*editor’s note: I say fruity, because they are all brewed with fruit. but they are not “sweet fruity”. they’re delicious fruity. in my language,  not “too sweet” that you can’t drink more than one. they’re a ‘lounge poolside & drink three’ kind of beers].

home-brewed iced coffee.

I have a minor major obsession love for iced coffee. you may have noticed. and I love nothing more than having a freshly-made iced coffee handed to me through a drive-thru window. but there are two issues. 1) I want my coffee when I wake up. as in shortly after I brush my teeth, and well before I think about dressing for the day. which means, if I have to leave the comfort of my home for my morning beverage, I risk embarrassing myself. much like {this day}. 2) it’s an expensive daily habit. especially when [J] & I both go. so to avoid both of these issues all together ..I am going to keep my fridge stocked with iced coffee. it’s so easy, there’s really no reason not to.
