have you ever felt so overwhelmed by the amount of things you needed to accomplish that when you’d sit down your brain would say “isn’t there something you should be doing right now?”.
full-time job + part-time weekend job + blogging + wedding planning + life. oh, and trying to get 8 hours of sleep.
thankfully I have an amazing fiancé, while I was on a coffee date with some local midwest bloggers this weekend, he was working on our wedding invitations, calling necessary vendors, and checking our guest list twice. he’s a saint.
busy is a good thing, don’t get me wrong. it’s just when you get too busy, you don’t have time to stop + smell the roses. to actually enjoy your life.
[*editor’s note: I am still smelling the roses. or at least waiting for may to bring them].
occasionally the extremely pale, sun-sensitive skin and countless freckles get the better of me.
but most of the time, I’m just blessed to have strong irish roots.
we’re known for being kind, fun, and able to drink a beer, or eight. which is me to a T.
I hope you are all spending this day the way it is supposed to be enjoyed.
unless you’re working, like me. then celebrate with a beer afterwards.
but if not, may it go a bit like this ..
start with chocolate chip shamrock pancakes ..
then eat a reuben sandwich [corned beef + cabbage americanized, aka between two pieces of bread]..
and drink an irish or green beer ..
but most importantly, don’t forget to wear green.
or fear being pinched.
apartment tour coming this week …
have the best monday!
I could not be happier to share with all of you ..
I began a new full-time position.
[tomorrow will mark the completion of two full weeks].
the road to get here was
so long, with many lulls. but it truly makes it that much more exciting + worth it. it’s hard not to get down on yourself when your job search yields numerous “we’re sorry, we have decided to go with another candidate. good luck!”. it is easy to second-guess your worth. but don’t. I gave myself the “they don’t know what they’re passing on” pep talk countless times. and now that I’m in a great position, it makes me want to work harder than ever.
now my concern is how am I going to decorate my office?
[if you know of any great etsy shops, I’d love the recommendation. I want inspirational prints + fun items everywhere. I do spend 8 hours a day in that chair].
friday, we’ll see you soon!
