I harbor a deep love for big cities.
I’ve spent extended periods of time in both chicago + london, and then lived in new york city for nearly two years. the thing I miss most is the unplanned days. the days you’d walk out your front door with no real destination in mind, but just begin walking. around every corner you’d discover a place you’ve never seen before or have always wanted to visit. you didn’t need an agenda. your feet would lead the way. miles felt like a neighborhood block. you didn’t realize the amount of ground you’d covered, until the next morning when your legs were tight + your feet ached.
so whenever I visit a city I set out on a destination-less adventure. the true gems are those you find when you’re not looking. the husband + I’s last trip to chicago was no exception. you can see more of where our wanderings lead us here.
